The Special of Sumba

Sumba is one of the „Small Sunda Islands“, and together this is the Indonesian province of Nusa Tenggara Timur. Sumba has approximately 600.000 inhabitants. The island's capital with its port is Waingapu. There are two small airports , one in East Sumba (Waingapu) and one in North-West Sumba (Tambolaka) with frequent connections to Denpasar and Kupang. Maritime transport is running on port cities and Waikelo and Waingapu. The land connection leads between the major settlements (along the main east-west axis) by an asphalt road and is relatively well developed. In the rest of the island, especially the north and south coasts, the accessible infrastructure is quite weak. Waru Wora is a small village in the west of the island of Sumba.
