The Idea of Waru Wora
Together with the Foundation a number of projects to improve water supply in Sumba will be realized in future. The Association Waru Wora e.V. has the job to begin funding in cooperation with the Foundation specifically dragging women by the water (they can really doing better than this agony) to take upon himself.
All information provided on this website is based on analysis and experience of Andre Graff (self-financed for 3 years), the farmers and women on the one hand, and geologists, meteorologists and other anthropologists in that area. The current projects concern the installation of solar powered pumps, tanks and pipelines. Together with leaders in Sumba we know that our activities will not lower the water table and not stir up conflict between the settlements etc. All parties can see crystal clear that for example with the weaving of cloth (ikat) the preservation of the unique village life, or parenting, the time of women can be better utilized.
